Other Relevant Experience

Below is the timeline of my experience, including internships, hobbies, and classes, that helped shape my digital marketing career.

In 2008, my curiosity for the internet unraveled after I created my Myspace social media account and when I first learned about Limewire and music file downloading.

Through Myspace, I learned how to customize my profile display with html and css and enjoyed updating the appearance of my profile to echo the season of the year. With Limewire, I found my favorite music files and discovered the impact that media files have on a computer’s system performance.

In fall of 2012, I started my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles.

In 2013, I found myself designing graphics for social media and print flyers in Adobe as the recruitment chair for my sorority organization.

In 2014, I was a Website Technician intern for the Dance Resource Center where I built branded email campaigns on MailChimp based on audience data derived from the Nation Builder CRM.

In 2015, I had a three year anniversary as Relational Database Management System Manager for UCLA’s Labor Occupational Safety and Health Program. I collaborated with the Director of Research and a consortium of universities using data-drive reports from the Microsoft Access Database engine where I gained an understanding on how to manipulate an Entity-Relationship Model Database.

In 2016, I completed a year as Executive Assistant/CRM Manager/Email Manager for Sierra Leone Rising (formerly The Kposowa Foundation), a small but powerful non-profit organization. This was a hands-on experience with Contact Contact, Google Sites, and the Gateway CRM.

In 2017, I enrolled in an intro to C++ computer programming language at Fullerton College.

In 2018, I took a Visual Studio Code workshop, hosted by Latina Geeks, where I learned how to install the IDE tool and setup extensions to build a static webpage based on html, css, and php.

In 2020, I applied and was accepted into the Small Business Incubator Program led by the Social Justice Sewing Academy. I completed a series of entrepreneurial development courses including branding and finance over 6 months. I launched my small e-commerce shop via Shopify and collaborated with multiple other entrepreneurs.
